About Us

The Farmville Breastfeeding Support Group is a brand new group beginning in Spring/Summer of 2008 in an attempt to meet a need in this community. Many moms want to breastfeed their babies, but run into problems with poor latch, sore nipples, low milk supply, mastitis, or other difficulties. When faced with these challenges, all too many moms decide that breastfeeding is just too hard. Our hope is that this group will provide a place for these mothers to get the help and encouragement they need to solve whatever problems they experience, so that they and their babies can enjoy breastfeeding for as long as they wish to do so.

It is also valuable for experienced breastfeeding moms to have a network of friends who are also breastfeeding their babies. The Farmville Breastfeeding Support Group can meet this need as well, and also provides an opportunity for our young children to play together. You should feel free to bring your young children, and nurse during the meetings.

We are not associated with any other group or organization. It is possible that at some time in the future we will become a La Leche group and we are using some La Leche League publications as reference materials, but there is no official connection at this time.
